CaterPillars
The challenge
We found that university caterers want to transition sustainable proteins as meal components, but struggle to navigate the ever-growing supply of green protein products and lack the connections to potential partners, because of limitations by time and knowledge. Green Protein Producers (GPPs) including farmer's cooperatives and startups that struggle to compete in a fractured market.
The solution
"To take away the headache of caterer's sourcing in a fractured market" (StartHub). CaterPillars aims to become a digital platform like AirBnB where we form the middle man between school/university caterers and GPPs. - We match the one sided demand of university caterers for sustainable protein meal components to the one sided supply of GPPs. - We analyse and customize sustainability data into digestible advice for our clients so that they can make informed decisions on how to change their menus. - We promote (local and small) GPPs' products and share our constantly updated network, thereby expanding their connections within the market. - We organize networking, brainstorming and other collaborative events What makes our solution unique is that we coproduce a market place for GPP and caterers and stimulate collaboration.
