The challenge

In many developing countries, staple diets are plant-based thus consumption of animal products are low. This consumption behavior are also happening to vegetarian in Western populations since animal products are not environmental friendly and sustainable. In consequence, dietary deficiencies in protein, Fe, and Zn are globally widespread. Moreover, there are few alternatives of convenient and nutritious vegetarian food available in the market. Most of the vegetarian food need to be prepared first before consumption means less convenient. Moreover, most of the convenient foods available today are low in nutrient, high in fat and animal-based (not sustainable), which are unhealthy and bad options for vegetarians.

The solution

Enakke is a ready-to-eat dry flakes with seasoning to be sprinkled on staple food such as rice/pasta/maize/potato. It is made from sustainable and high-protein ingredients such as moringa leaves (which are grown wild in Indonesia), seaweed and cricket. The ingredients are also high in Fe and Zn. The textures is crispy, similar with chips, with umami flavor from seaweed and spices. Enakke will become a new variety of protein-food for everyone including vegetarian to be consumed. It is a friend for your staple food which provides crunchy texture and delicacy with sustainable ingredients.
